The 2008 ABL Scholarship Recipient is Kurt Thomas.
For several years, the Alachua Business League has awarded a two-year scholarship to Santa Fe High School graduates to attend Santa Fe Community College. The Santa Fe Community College Endowment Fund matches the ABL funds that enable students to receive enough money to attend college for 4 semesters.
The ABL criteria for this scholarship is to have a desire to own/run a business, and develop an idea of what it takes to make this business happen. Applications are available through the Santa Fe High School Guidance Office and from the Alachua County Public Schools Foundation, Inc. at www.acpsf.org.
A former recipient told us when asked if the application process was challenging, he simply replied “…not at all, I just took the time to fill it out.”
